Our most recent run in July:

30 lunches:

Man/wife off of I-95

“We saw you guys three times before, and you helped us. We had all of our stuff stolen the other day. You are a godsend.

His sign read: “ Don’t make me eat the dog!” That was hilarious.

Mr. M 6’8”

Columbus and Christian Street

Post-op arm surgery. Old loose crocks, needed all new clothes, and a severe need for toiletries.

Kevin

North and Columbus

Under an umbrella. He led us to what we shall call “Tent Island,” not far from Dave and Busters.

Robert was a clean and courteous 64 y/o electrician. He lost his job when the boss who owned the company died. His unemployment runs out in five weeks, won’t stay at the homeless shelters b/c of the “Horrible” conditions. He made improvements on his camping site on “Tent Island.”One of the boys with us said it looks pretty good. He was so happy to get jeans, new boots, and shirts so he could use them for the upcoming job interviews he’s planning. “You are a Godsend.”

Ms. N., as always, was smiling.

Mr. M, a 66 y/o 1/2 blind,

With Parkinson’s, He was evicted from his apartment in March.

Good news :

I met a team member from the Navigation Center (Outreach), the nicest place to get showered, do laundry, and even watch TV and relax in peace. An outreach team was there to verify if they’re homeless and how she can better help them out. She was honest and frank, saying that her job is to get them the help they deserve. Straight shooter, one hell of a great lady, and said they are safer than other homeless shelters.

In speaking with a few Homeless men, they don’t like certain shelters, and they don’t feel safe. One person even mentioned that he couldn’t get a shower because someone took a crap in it, and the bathrooms were terrible.

Mrs. K & Husband Mr B.

Mostly toiletry, but needed more and took more after encouragement (Very Humble)

Mr. J wheelchair

We’ve seen him several times over the past three years. He has been clean for two years, however, the remnant of his addiction still lingers. It was after he injected heroin with tranquilizer and two years later his leg looked horrible.

Veterans: 6 ( 20% )

Prayers: at least 25

God has Blessed us!!!
